On March 10th, from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, sixty-four residents of the Park Pointe community in Greenacres, Florida were treated to a comprehensive presentation and open forum for all questions and concerns related to problem gambling. This event was part of a set presentation in honor of the PGAW, the national problem gamgling awareness week.

Video & powerpoint presentations were constantly running, a plethora of material was inserted into bags consisted of brochures, dvds, promotional items and additonal resources in hopes that members of the community would maintain these resources and build better gambling related supports within their community.

Many members of the community admitted to frequent gambling in the form of card games, off-track betting, or casinos and local outlets.

Park Pointe is one of the many communities who organize annual, and sometimes more frequent trips to the many gambling oriented locations such as the Hard Rock, Isle Casino, and Calder Park.

Following nearly 3 hours of a health-fair style set up, any questions were answered and participants were encouraged to contact the FCCG for any additional information or the helpline if they or someone they care about may be at risk.
