The holidays can be a challenging time to many people. Household finances could be tight and trying to maintain the “holiday spirit” during difficult times can be hard. Compound that with trying to deal with a gambling addiction and the effects can be devastating. Families and loved ones are often overlooked when talking about compulsive gambling but they are the ones that can suffer most. Bills can go unpaid, the gambler is often times not at home or are distant when they are and that special family relationship can be broken at the time of the year when it is needed most. If finances are a problem, the gambler may try to “win” their way out of a bad situation in order to buy presents and provide for the family during the holidays. The FCCG understands the problems that can arise within the family due to problem gambling and wants to send a clear message to all those affected. We are here to help!
