HCADA held a round table discussion

Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance held a round table with local attorneys, Tampa Police, Hillsborough County sheriff, local colleges, businesses, treatment agencies and parents on problem gambling and establishing protocol for referral to address the issue.

"A Chance for Change: Gambling Addiction & Crime" booklets were distributed and several pages were highlighted and discussed. The Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling's 24-hour Helpline was discussed highlighting their resources for referral and assessment as well as trained professionals to assist in identifying a client with gambling addiction.

It was very successful in identifying and digging a little deeper into gambling playing a part into certain crimes and alternative resources for the judicial system.
